Simeone Museum Ferrari Demo Day and a very special Ferrari

Apr 26, 2010,17:46 PM

This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending the Simeone Foundation’s Ferrari Demo Day, located in Philadelphia, PA. In addition to touring the fabulous museum, I also looked forward to seeing two vintage beauties in action – a 1954 Ferrari 375MM and a 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. I was also surprised to see a third Ferrari in the parking lot that I thought was a Dino from afar. When I got closer I could certainly tell it was no Dino! I had the distinct honor of seeing a 1965/6 Ferrari 365 P Speciale, one of only two ever built.

I should’ve smacked this kid’s hand!

For more info on the 365 P Speciale:

Understandably, this one was not driven today…

Here are some photos and videos of the 375MM and 250 Testa Rossa

And we’re off

Opening her up now

And now for the Testa Rossa. What she lacks in power, she certainly makes up for in looks

A little race…

And here’s the rest of the museum. These photos and videos really convinced me to buy a new camera. At least the outdoor photos turned out alright.

For those of you that watch “Chasing Classic Cars”, this is the blower Bentley Wayne Carini featured when he visited the museum

And a personal favorite, 1926 Bugatti Type 35

Hope you enjoyed!

What an amazing weekend you had! Such a special collection of Ferrari's all in one place. The '56 Maserati and Bugatti are beautiful! Is that a Shelby Cobra I see? -MW

Yes, it's a Cobra

Virtually any Italian designed exotic from the 50s and 60s floats my boat. The golden age of modern coach design for me (even for the Germans and Brits, too with the cars represented). That Ferrari is just gorgeous. That white

Nice cars getting some sun! Even cars have to stretch their legs, errr tires, every now and then.
