My little adventure in Shanghai :)

Apr 16, 2012,19:53 PM

It's been more than 6 years since I last visited the Peace hotel and it has undergone a massive renovation. Thank you Ben aka Meiwenti for giving me advise to visit the Swatch Art Museum beside the hotel. smile

It's 5 plus in the evening and managed to beat the jam to reach there.

The Swatch Art musuem is just opposite the hotel.

There's a little musuem in the hotel itself has a little gallery/musuem on the 2nd level and worth a quick visit. It's free by the way.

A view from the past

Laundry bag from the past.

I did not take any pics in Swatch Art musuem but finally tried on a Breguet piece that has been hard to find. The La musical Reveil. A massive piece but the music is a bit soft.

It was close to dinner and I decided to  go up to the 9th level where the view is GREAT. Adivse to book early for window seats as I did not get them.

Starters

The tomatoes were so good that I had to have seconds!

Duck Confit for mains

It was a rather long wait for the desert. Almost 30 mins.

Horogastronomy?

Luckily I had Jonathan who went out of the way and provided great service.

Latte on the house

Night view of the Bund from the inside the restaurant

There's an outdoor area for drinks but it's one of the best spot for pictures.

cheers

The views are spectacular from where you took the pics, nicely done! Did you try any good places in Shanghai for dumplings or noodles? -MW

Hi Ming, was thinking of another place that I have not been in 6 years for that.

M on the Bund, a roof top Singapore restaurant if you happy to be home sick already. Great view from the south of the Bund, opposite view of where you took the beautiful shots. of course, don't miss out going to Yi Yuan's NanXiang xiao long restaurant, it...

This is as good as National Geographic... always something interesting to see and read about. The nicest difference between here and NG is that these are fun, enjoyable memoirs of the life and times of the unique people in our forum. Warmest, Helen

My favourite channel over here is National Geographic! LOL.
