New knife purchase, wow..

 By: doubleup : April 24th, 2014-14:33
I just picked this one up at a knife show last weekend, which was at one time one of the largest in the US. Met all the good people at Spartain, Spyderco and some others. Apparently Lane County in Oregon has a high concentration of high end knife makers. ...

The Sebenza...

Very cool, congrats doubleup! Chris Reeves is well known and has a excellent reputation. That doesn't look like a 21 or 25, they they release a new one? The thumb relief area is something I haven't seen but it's a while since I looked into high end knives...

Thanks DRMW

It is actually the first style made that was discontinued in 2006 it 2008 I believe. The scalloped ridges are main difference. Thanks for looking they call it the "regular sebenza" large model

You have good tastes! So what are going to get next? :) -MW

Spartain knives are in my head..

They have a really nice folder, the Akribis, it is pretty amazing, I like folders as I use all my knives and don't really have a need for a fixed blade, although Spartain fixed blades temp me. What about you? Any 1911's out there that get you excited? Saw...

I don't collect but there are some I keep.

I would have loved to add more but the interesting pieces are so much more expensive here in Thailand than they are originally offered in the United States, for example. Your new pick up is very cool and stealthy. Congratulations. Ruckdee ...

Very nice! Like the signed Gerber.

You've got a nice collection there, thanks for sharing!

If I must buy more knives beginning from today, I will tell my lady...

...it is you that must be blamed for re-igniting my interest :D Just kidding, of course. Have a nice day and thank you! Ruckdee

I like the tanto profile of the SIG Sauer blade! A nice touch is that the handles match the grips on a SIG handgun. -MW

You read my mind. I thought about buying this one just for that connection.

About that matching blade, it was meant to be a fun purchase for keeping. But it turned out to be my favorite because of size and heft. The Aquatimer is now with a good new home but the 226 I still have. Ruckdee ...

Cool 226

Have you mounted any lights or lasers to the rail on your 226? Regards, ED-209

Thank you! Just a simple rail light for when it is needed.

 By: Ruckdee : April 26th, 2014-23:42
I don't own a laser for the 226. The possibility of carrying in my country is almost zero. Even the simple act of bringing a gun to the range is "technically" illegal. And guns here are three times more expensive than in the States. But that's probably a ...

I collect one at a time...

 By: Tony C. : April 30th, 2014-21:49
in other words, I've never owned more than one at any given time. I do very much like custom fixed blade knives, and have owned some nice ones. My current one is a small (8") drop-point hunter by the famous maker SR Johnson. This is a very early example o...

Good to hear I managed to pick up a nice folder from someone doing this longer than me. Thank you for sharing and appreciate the comment. Interesting fact on the way the fixed blades are constructed. Have a great weekend Subexplorer!
