I had my first real vacation this year last month. Although a simple short 3-day, 2-night away from work, this trip is a first on many levels. It is the first time I have been to the southern Thai province of Krabi and also the first flights of my nephew....  

The wood deck dining with the ocean view seems amazing. You should have tried the rock climbing it's alot of fun! I thought this shot of yours came out great: FYI, another of your pics is the new TimeOut forum masthead pic! :) -MW ...  

A lot of things were going on my mind when I took that shot with waves crashing in. They were so strong even the locals came out to take photo like I did, saying they hadn't seen waves that strong without actual rain or storm in a big while. Next destinat...

I find the actual act of posting itself much less time-consuming than the pic selection process. It's so difficult to me to delete pics from a list, even when I know that posting too many can be boring. I do use the kind of freeware that automatically res...

. . . wonderfully imaged and told. That lagoon seems mystical; I'd love to spend a day there. My memories of Bangkok go back almost fifty years, but every time I visit my parent's place, I'm reminded of that visit by the teak chests, artwork, and cutlery ...

Thanks for this extensively and lovely illustrated post of your vacation trip that I came across during my night shift on ICU. It was a beautiful place you went to and your photographs are simply splendid. I still remember with gratitude our meeting in Ba... 

Too bad the weather was so so and that you were not able to swim in the lagoon, but still the resort looked really cozy and the food tasty. Hopefully on your next trip back the weather will be better ;-) All the best and thanks for sharing, Alex
