Introducing - myself

Dec 04, 2009,04:10 AM

Since I entered this forum in July/August have I been staring at this topic almost every day

INTRODUCE YOURSELF!     From DRMW

I have read the old stuff from February/March this year and thought, maybe I better give it a go myself:

Name

Hans Jørgen xxxxx

Nickname

"Hans_Jorgen_1968", I actually used my surname the first period, but changed this as I understood also "none members" a watching'.

Born/age

Read my nickname carefully... (hint 1968)

Citizen

Danish

Living

Now in Denmark. Have lived and Studied/worked some years in Germany and Australia (Melbourne) as well

Marital staus

Have been married 1 time, now divorced, 2 kids (a son and a daughter). Now on a much much younger girlfriend (at the moment) and planning some kids

Education

Always interest in learning new stuff, so holding three university degrees

Bachelor of electronic engineering from Denmark and Germany

Bachelor in Organization and leadership from Denmark

Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Melbourne, Australia

Occupation

Director of R&D for a Danish industrial company. used to work many tears as Sales Manager (In OZ)

Interest

Long term collector of Leica Cameras, but sold of the collection some 10 years ago to purchase a city house.

Today mainly collecting

Watches

Knives (mainly Laguiole and some military stuff)

Wines (heavy in taste, so the OZ wines, Ben Glaetzer mmmhh yummy, Amarone and Barolos...)

Reading. Mainly crimes, biographies (starting on Warren Buffet tomorrow)

Cigars. Mainly from Avo Uvezian which I like the most

Cars, but at the moment having only one (as the taxes are some 205%, on new and old cars).. Looking at a Porche 911 Carrera 1976..

My Summerhouse at the sea. A Summerhouse we renovated over the last year.

Watches

Long term interest in watches. First mechanical a Swatch purchased in Germany (1991) while studying there. Second and third mechanical watches purchased in Melbourne in 1998-1999. A Rolex GMT and a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. After this a few Rolexes, a few Omegas and a Panerai Marina. In 2006 + 2008 I than inherited some 4 watches from my granddad and  my father.

Until July/August this year me ONLY interest was new watches

In the beginning of 2009 I started looking at the new Co-Axial movements with Annual Calendar, and was/am actually  looking at a Omegas Seamster Aqua Terra Annual Calendar. But here also came across the Omega Speedmaster, the Speedmaster 50th Anniversary Limited Series (which I almost purchased, and still are considering). Here I had to learn about this soft stuff crystal (the hesalite), which moved me to older/vintage watches. Watches with a story, with a spirit. Today, some 3½ Month later have I been trying to keep up with the more experienced guys on the forum and acquiring a few vintages. Now up to some 7 Watches acquired since August  30th... And still counting ;-)

PuristPro

Member since: July 30th, 2009. Which I joined after searching form some information on Omega Speedmaster.

Have been reading "Timezone" since 1998, and joined that forum as a member in 2005. But have actually never been really active on this forum

Best regards

Hans
