A day in the Life of a Portuguese

Jan 10, 2011,18:46 PM

I am absolutely new to this forum, having spent all of my time on the Omega and the JLC fora previously. Reading TimeOut for the first time last night, I think it should be appropriate for me to share some materials I have ready in my harddisk.

And this is a day in the life of a Portuguese. Events occur in real time... smile

I woke up to a pleasantly cool weather at five thirty one Saturday morning and went out for an aimless drive around the neighborhood. Winter comes to Bangkok, Thailand once every five years or so. Better savor it while I could.

Satisfied when the car's thermometer read 20 degrees Celsius, I headed back home to prepare The Gang's breakfast.

Checked the mailbox one time before leaving the house for real. Look what ad coincidentally appeared in the magazine that very day.

But before I could get any job done, a hearty breakfast was certainly in order.

Shook off that lingering sleepiness with a good cup of latte.

Minimal work was done as there was a ton of e-mails to attend to. Then it was time to hit the road again for some errands.

Had lunch and came back home to enjoy quality time with The Gang.

Little did they know it was the day for their vaccinations!

That didn't take too long so there was plenty of time to water the plants.

And so it was time to line the walls of my stomach...

...in preparation for what was to come next!

Before eventually dragging myself home for some midnight oil burning kind of repentance.

The Portuguese's wearer succumbed to that pressing, food-and-booze-induced drowsiness at this time. It was a long 20 hours day indeed.

Well, thanks for viewing. I hope you didn't find the show to be too senseless for public viewing!

And they have already caused a lot of damages to everything in their way. The boy was hospitalized once due to undigested foreign objects he ate. Hope he will learn from that lesson. Ruckdee

Welcome to Time Out and thank you for showing us your cute dogs. Are you Portuguese? My spouse likes to listen to Portuguese music, he think it's exotic sounding. We were just talking about that today. Lol! Hope you hang around. Warmly, Helen

Thank you for the warm welcome. And, no, I'm Thai not Portuguese.

The Portuguese was in reference to the IWC Portuguese Seven Days shown in the photographs. If you and yours happen to travel to this part of the world, please be sure to let me know. I can probably show you two around the places if our schedules match. Ru...

They are IWC collectors but for some reasons they have the pilot watches and the Ingenieurs but not the Portuguese. We were having a conversation about the watch a few days prior. And I knew that Saturday was going to be eventful so I took those photograp...

Vanda coerulea?

Ruckdee, I like these photoessays, particularly of the different places that members live and work. Nicely done. I love your vanda. I'd kill to be able to grow one of those, but here at 42 N latitude the only thing getting killed would be the plant. Tom

Glad you like it. The orchid is a vanda variant.

But I don't know them good enough to spell a name. All I know is the flowers last for about a month. Then it will be another one and a half months or so until the new buds come out and start to bloom. I guess being able to grow them is one of the few adva...

A nice day....

Sawatdee ka! I have many relatives who live in Bangkok, and I used to visit Thailand quite often, but not so much in these last few years (Khun Yai has been complaining about this!). Are you originally from Bangkok? My mom is from Northeastern Thailand, a...
