Lovers' bridge

Jul 04, 2011,13:29 PM

I start to understand now the idea behind the watch by Van Cleef & Arpels:

A bridge is a true symbol of love! The proof in Köln: the Hohenzollern bridge is used by couples from any place in the world as a support for the padlocks which are used to seal their love...

Of course, this kind of scene can be seen in a lot of cities but I've never seen so many padlocks! I wonder if they are able to find again their own ones!

The truly romantic...

The truly romantic would do something awful. The symbolize their eternal affection, they'd probably throw their keys off the bridge where they'd never be found. The awful part is all the litter of keys there would be.

Charming idea

Where's yours, Fr.Xavier!? The shots with a cathedral in the background are lovely! Cheers, Daos

It was a phenomenon completely alien to me. There were even a pair of locks INSIDE the dome of the Duomo, which I assume caused a heavy debt at next confession. I've never found out why people do it, or where it started... Any history for a poor purist fr...

Makes you want to go to Klon
