Oct 01, 2013,00:01 AM
Arches National Park in Moab, Utah.
We
continue our visit around Arches National Park in the state of
Utah. You can read about the other areas: (
timeout.watchprosite.com
). We arrive to one of the more well known landmarks, The
Windows...
A video of from the
Double Arch/Cove of Caves and views from the North
Window:
Let's
begin the Window Trail with a scenic 1 mile hike to the North
Window...
Even from afar, the red rocks are
spectacular! The shapes that the arches form are fascinating
to look at:
Even
though its a quick hike, it's hot so we make sure we have our sun screen
on and carry plenty of water:
A Panoramic shot of the
North Window:
The species of plants
that grow out here are very delicate so it s important to respect nature
when visiting the Park.
Some of the native cactus in the area:
It can take hundreds of
years for them to grow:
The trail starts off flat
but gradually there are some steps as you asend to the North
Window:
The Window Trail makes a
loop so you can go wither way. Most visit the North Window
first, then the South window, and eventually to the Turret
Arch.
Can
you image taking pics at night time? It would be so cool to
catch the stars when it got dark or maybe when it
snows.
As we make our approach
you can see how large the rocks are!
Looking up at the peak of
the North Window:
Some loose rock embedded
into the crevice of the massive overhead arch:
As there are different
layers of stone and sediment, it erodes at various stages.
Standing under the North
Window arch, we take in the stunning view looking out at Turret
Arch:
After capturing some photos and video, he
make our way down to the South Window...
From
the intersection of the Windows Trail we take a glimpse of the North
Window:
Not far from the North
Window is the South Window:
It's a steeper
climb but not at all difficult. The views are not as nice as
the North Window but it overlooks the valley
