I haven't even heard of that one!

That's cool.  Probably a very double IPA and an extension of their "Rumination" line.

That's a really limited quantity!

Stone Enjoy By IPA, a great beer.

Patrick_y, a self proclaimed foodie, shares one of his favorite India-Pale-Ale beers with PuristSPro. But careful, time is running out on this one. Some people really like hoppy beers, I'm one of them. But when a beer is made in a single continuous batch,...

2 cases of 12 beers is easy to get rid of, all you have to do is find some friends and throw a bbq this July 4th weekend and it'll be gone in no time. -MW

I'm Hoping To Beat July 4th...

I dropped off four brewskies with the people at SF BMW whom service my car (manager, two assistant managers, and loaner car department head). And I gave several to my colleagues at the office. And then I gave two to two different friends. I've got around ...

Ah, a fellow connoisseur! . . .

. . . love ales, particularly red varieties, also browns. The local dive bar had Anchor Elephant IPA on tap a few months ago, but dropped it; when I asked a bartender, she said I was one of only two people that ordered it! Long preferred the softer, riche...

Next time you're up in SF...

I need to get you a tour of Anchor Brewing. I'm disappointed that Anchor Brewing didn't get much traction at the bar you mentioned. It has quite a following in San Francisco since it's based here. But I'm surprised that there wasn't highly esteemed within...

My brother used to live near the top of Potrero Hill . . .

. . . so yes, I've already made a pilgrimage to the Bay Area beer shrine. The local dive bar has eight taps, half exotics, half standards - Bud, Bud Lite, Coors Light, and MGD. I should thank my lucky stars they had Anchor IPA for a month or so.

I don't think I remember it...

I can't remember the last time I had the Anchor IPA. I will have to order it again and try it the next time I see it. I've yet to make the pilgrimage to the Anchor Steam factory in SF. Perhaps someday.

Anchor Elephant IPA was just introduced this year . . .

. . . so it's unlikely you've run into it before. I'm hoping to find it at another bar locally - it was that good!

Had one of those a week ago.

Big IPA fan here. Dogfish 60 is a favorite. Recently tried Uinta Dubhe Imperial Black and that is tasty too. Epic Hopulent, Firestone Double Jack, Heady Topper, RR Blind Pig, Cigar City Humidor Series, all awesome. Have a few Pliny the Elders (not so easy...

I like the Dogfish too...

I really like the name Epic Hopulent. That's a great name for a beer! Thanks for your input Michael! A few more beers to add to my "To Try" list.

Those are some serious contenders I listed.

Surely there are lots more too. Have you tried the Russian River offerings? Right in your backyard. I had the Elder on tap a few weeks ago and it was amazing.

Nope. I've yet to try them...

I think we've found our resident beer connoisseur. Michael and Art seem to be experts. I'll have to track down a place that has Elder on tap.

Be sure and follow up after you try it.

On tap it really is amazing. I opted to drink one last night to ease the pain of the US loss. Definitely helped!

Seems like I need to visit Colorado...

Will do. Might be a few weeks until I get around to it. As I don't drink often anymore (not as many client dinners as I used to have).

You can find Pliny on tap at the Marriott Marquis in SF.

It's in the lobby bar and it's great. We had Stone Enjoy By on tap at a local BBQ joint, good stuff.

Good to know! Thanks!

Haven't seen you nor read your posts for a few years. Trust you've been well.

Of course Aussies came up with the term ...

Hi Patrick, Wish I was there to try this one. Sounds delish. Art introduced me to a number of IPA's when I visited recently and I was very impressed with the number of micro breweries and the support of local manufacturing, particularly with boutique beer...

Wow. That's some information!

I had assumed that it was a Colonial British alternative to drinking water in India. Where the water sometime would have its own problems causing dysentery or disease. Thus, India Pale Ale with its alcohol content would be a safer alternative than water. ...

Patrick, I just got 2 bottles of this last night...

 By: MichaelC : July 2nd, 2014-08:01
My brother texted at 9pm to say our store had just received 1 case. They usually limit to 1 bottle / customer, but our lady there gave us each 2. 10.8%... whoa. I'll try one this weekend and report back. ...

I haven't even heard of that one!
