Seafood, Limestone Islands and a Toddler
By: Ruckdee : July 25th, 2014-22:38
I had my first real vacation this year last month. Although a simple short 3-day, 2-night away from work, this trip is a first on many levels. It is the first time I have been to the southern Thai province of Krabi and also the first flights of my nephew....
What a exotic location!

The wood deck dining with the ocean view seems amazing. You should have tried the rock climbing it's alot of fun! I thought this shot of yours came out great: FYI, another of your pics is the new TimeOut forum masthead pic! :) -MW ...
Thank you and also for the masthead honor.

A lot of things were going on my mind when I took that shot with waves crashing in. They were so strong even the locals came out to take photo like I did, saying they hadn't seen waves that strong without actual rain or storm in a big while. Next destinat...

a complete pictorial trip. I wouldn't have the energy to post that much pictures... I have pictures from Spain and Bali, and am now in another paradise... What a backlog! I like the shoes on the beach picture :) cen@waikiki
Backlogged here too. Two more to go.

I find the actual act of posting itself much less time-consuming than the pic selection process. It's so difficult to me to delete pics from a list, even when I know that posting too many can be boring. I do use the kind of freeware that automatically res...
The free one I use is called PhotoScape.
By: Ruckdee : July 27th, 2014-02:28
You can download it here: The function we are discussing is called "Batch Editor". It's very easy to use. You will understand it right away. Just add files in the order you want them, tell the software what the final size you want the files resized to, s...

My photos are nowhere near yours in quality and content. You know I have (too) much cameragear...but as you also know, its not the gear it depends on... So I appreciate your long quality postings! Thanks Beny
Yet another fascinating travelogue! Thanks, Ruckdee . . .

. . . wonderfully imaged and told. That lagoon seems mystical; I'd love to spend a day there. My memories of Bangkok go back almost fifty years, but every time I visit my parent's place, I'm reminded of that visit by the teak chests, artwork, and cutlery ...
Memories are such a nice thing, aren't they?
By: Ruckdee : July 26th, 2014-20:01
And here's the Google Maps coordinates to the lagoon. You will see it tucked in nicely in the center of the island. ,98.6774076,747m/data=!3m1!1e3 What you can't experience from the satellite and camera images is the silence. It's incredibly peaceful, whe...

Too bad the weather was so so and that you were not able to swim in the lagoon, but still the resort looked really cozy and the food tasty. Hopefully on your next trip back the weather will be better ;-) All the best and thanks for sharing, Alex
