A pictorial visit of Venezia.
Aug 21, 2014,00:49 AM
This is not the first time we visit Venezia, as Trieste is not far from the " Serenisima " ( only 150 Kilometers ), but each time we go there, it is like the first time.
Every corner of the town, every bridge, every canale ( and God knows there are many, there! ) is a pure rapture.
The play of light, the colors of the houses, the small and narrow streets, the labyrinth of water, the majestuous monuments are all contributing to your aesthetical pleasure.
Aesthetical, and historical pleasures, I should say.
Indeed, there is an interaction between the visitor and the town, a strong link which is built between the two. This town is a travel into time, each piece, each street of Venezia tells a story, you feel it, you can imagine how life was some centuries ago, this is really difficult to put in words, you just have to live it.
In fact, there are two ways to visit Venezia.
- The " Touristic " way, which leads you to go to the gigantic Piazza San Marco, which is, for Watch Nuts a must see, specially if you are an Ulysse Nardin Fan. The Torre Dell Orologio ( Clock Tower ) is really something, as well as the Rialto, and the Biennale ( which hosts Artistic events ).
We ended our visit with these parts of the town.
A view on the Piazza San Marco ( left side ) featuring, on the background, the Clock Tower:
And the right part of the Place:
The view from the Rialto, which looks like a painting, don't you think?
And from the Biennale Café, which is also somptuous!
The daughter started to get tired, but offer her a good drink and a Venetian Mask, and she is invigorated!
- The " I loose myself " in the town in certainly a very interesting method to visit a place. It is my favourite way, to say all, because you avoid the crowd, and you are surprised at each street corner.
There are so many intriging and marvellous things to see!
Don't you want to spend some time in this restaurant?
What about this café?
What about a rest in this secret garden?
The Pisa Tower is not the only one to incline...
One of oldest, if not the oldest clock of the town:
What about this surrealistic shot?
How do you like the place, with or without ship?
Are there people walking in these narrow Streets, sometimes?
There are two Symbols which come to mind, when we imagine Venezia: Gondolas and Canals. There are plenty of both, in reality, so this is not only a fantaisy.
I will end by these two symbols, but to be clear, Venezia is much more than that, it is an ambiance to be lived, to be fully appreciated and understood.
A gondola maker!
The diversity of Canals is just impressive:
I hope you liked the pictorial tour!
Best,
Nicolas
