Time for a rosewood cue stick . . .

. . . update.
After hanging out with Warren yesterday . . .

. . . I continued my trip eastward to visit Bob. I'd dropped off a shaft a few weeks ago for tip replacement, and since it was ready, I brought along my camera to capture the progress of the cue under construction.
This cue has a solid rosewood forearm with a purpleheart-cored baroni handle and rosewood sleeve.
All my other cues have cored forearms; this one should have a noticeably firmer 'hit'. An oak and a purpleheart shaft . . .
. . . for varying levels of feedback; both will be fitted with very soft tips.
After leaving his shop in eastern LA County, it was down to northern Orange County for my usual Sunday night shoot-out with the gang. The very soft tip fitted to the oak shaft retrieved earlier in the day proved its worth.
A routine three-rail bank shot . . .
. . . into a side pocket across the short rail of the table, a considerably more difficult . . .
. . . three rail bank across the long rail, and one of those shots that looks deceptively easy . . .
. . . but isn't, a one-rail kick terminating in a combination. Called shots, all.
Jim had several memorable shots, too, like this . . .
. . . three-rail bank; similar to the one I made, but more difficult to execute as the angle of attack was steeper.
The latest cue should be ready in a month or so; there's another in the pipeline, and once the persimmon wood from the family orchards is sufficiently dry, at least one more.
If anyone else is collecting cues, please share them with us!
