Slovenia and Croatia. A quick trip to meet some friends.
From Trieste, Slovenia is at 13 Kilometers. Add 10 more kilometers, and you are in Croatia. Well, with such short distances, it is very tempting to " escape " from Trieste, to meet some local friends, to have a nice lunch or dinner of sea food, and to re discover some superb landscapes.
First Verteneglio, or BROTNGLA, the Croatian name of this small typical istrian village where I go every year for two or three days.
The hotel is somptuous, full of charm, the food and the drinks are awesome, too. The swimming pool is a quiet alternative to the crowdy sea side, as the village is at 5 kilometers from the first beach, Karigador.
A walk in the village is always a journey in time, a pure rapture with its colorful houses.

The day after, a jump in the sea, in Slovenia, this time, in a place I always saw from the road, but which we never visited, Portoroze, at only 20 Kilometers from BRTNGLA:
Ok, the place is much more touristic than BROTNGLA, but it doesn't lack charm. And when you have a Young daughter, well, it is the place to go!
Due to the incertain weather, there was almost nobody on the beach!
Luck was on our side.

From Trieste, there are so many places to visit! And so many marvels to discover. Take a plane for Venezia, and then rent a car. Go East. Best, Nicolas
