In Geneva (today) a lot is about luxury, "mass luxury" to be exact. In just a few minutes walk you can find almost everything you want to see - available for sale. This time more than ever before I was told about limited edition , limited pieces , limited...

but also we could say that a lot of people who wanted to get a simple VW Käfer (Beetle) in the early days they even had to save more than in your example. Still I won´t call a Beetle a luxury car, even when it offered some kind of luxury for some. OK, ok ...

Are you still referring to Lobb - UK or the other one? The former one used to be strong in bespoke but I heard they have to deal with once only customers today, which means monetary trouble in the long run. I have Lobbs from both companies and all look ni... 

But, as you said, I really learned from my own experience that beauty doesn't always sound like quality and comfort. Many low cost shops today bring good looking shoes but they don't last long (leather quality) or they are heavy and hard like wood. Usuall... 

but I learned this is not absolutely true anymore. There are some less-known companies which offer great value for the money - better quality than most of the famous ones. Haven´t tried the "new ones" yet as I still have quite a few in rotation, but that ... 

Luxury is an evolving term. But it's about being comfortable. I have some fabulous hand-made shoes that are physically uncomfortable, aesthetically beautiful, but the experience is something of great mental comfort. The shoes, the after-sales service of v...

I don't have enough experience with luxury goods to offer an informed opinion. I live in a backwater, and therefore can only see such items when I"m traveling. More and more we are confronted with all these branded items that are more often than not made ... 

Yes, I think there is (in general) a difference when we talk about quality from different countries - at least if some outstanding skills and materials are required. E.g. Zegna Z-line used to be produced in Switzerland. Today it is (best to my knowledge) ...  

I've never heard of them before, and it was pricey. But the cut, the finish, the material, the fit, it's amazing. I'm pampering this one, I'll only wear it on rare occasions, and I don't have a cleaner I can trust it to, so I'm laundering it myself and ai...

They're model 1024. They're Gore Tex lined, which I went back and forth on, but which I will probably need for walking in the snow or stepping in the occasional stream. They're replacing a pair of SCARPAs, a beautiful pair of boots, that I'd worn for year...

and I don't think any of them would fit my feet. My favorite was the "camel" model, (photo from internet below). Any color would be fine, but the camel in red was very special. Now maybe if I'd made it to the actual store, I could have talked made to meas...  

In some cases even bespoke does´t fit, because of the style of the chosen model. Still think you should be able to find something nice and comfortable. You will like it even more, once you found yours. Good luck! Oliver

the leather and stitches are so much better for Hermes, LV than Prada. Also, when you feel the leather, you can see substantial differences. I think Hermes, LV are more generous than Prada, but comes with a price of course. I think it's still kind of same... 

Some of the Prada menswear is really nice, and I have a couple articles, but other pieces feel like anything else.
