Luxury is about being comfortable and finding a partner...

Luxury is an evolving term. But it's about being comfortable.
I have some fabulous hand-made shoes that are physically uncomfortable, aesthetically beautiful, but the experience is something of great mental comfort. The shoes, the after-sales service of virtually unlimited complimentary shoe polishings, the quality of the shoe itself and its handmade nature is all something that is artistic in a way. I want to support the shoemaker. I want to support the store. I want to support the salesperson whom I trust and value so much. At the end, these shoes genuinely make me feel happy. So happy that I want to buy another one, and another. And another.
Living in the Western United States, I wore the shoes to New York City one year and it poured rain during the summer. Fortunately, they had a store in New York, where i was able to bring it in for a polish and a cleaning. Gratis.
This particular shoe company has supported me whenever I requested it. I know that I will be supporting them whenever I can. It's like a partnership. It's not tit for tat. At the end, I'm comfortable and confident.
