Asiana Lounge @ ICN (Incheon Airport) Seoul, South Korea

I posted about a peculiar experinece not long ago (  http://timeout.watchprosite.com/show-forumpost/fi-686/pi-6808248/ti-974573/s-0/t-timeout-eeeeewwflying-the-unfriendly-skies-/ ) and wanted to follow up on this in more detail.  Here we are in Incheon Airport (ICN) in Seoul, South Korea.  We flew in from Hong Kong and headed to the Business Class Lounge.  The signs are not that noticeable as you navigate the airport but once you get closer to it there are several signs:

The entrance to the Asiana lounge:

But wait, there's two options in getting to the lounge, elevators:

or the escalators:

Here's the view once the elevator doors open:

From the above photo, they have a large Asiana airplane model.  To the left is the front check-in counter where you show your ticket to the hostess.  Across where the escalators lead up to is the smaller of the two lounges.  To the right is the larger lounge room.

Here's a video of the Asiana Business Class Lounge in Incheon airport:

We entered the larger lounge and at the front of the entrance are the computer rooms with complimentary internet access:

Once past the computer rooms was the beverage counter.  The place was huge, IMO it was more than twice the size of the Sky Lounge at LAX (  http://timeout.watchprosite.com/show-forumpost/fi-686/pi-6781328/ti-971663/s-0/t-timeout-star-alliance-lounge-lax-tom-bradley-international-terminal/  wink.

The long center island had the food counter:

As we move past the food and beverage area it opens up to the vast lounge:

Lots of colorful furniture and wood bookshelves:

This place had plenty of seating.  Electrical outlets (the universal kind so you don't need to bring adapters if you're not from Asia or South Korea).  The wifi was better than the Star Alliance lounge but definitely slower than the public one at Hong Kong or Airport or the Bauhinia Lounge (  http://timeout.watchprosite.com/show-forumpost/fi-686/pi-6794023/ti-973063/s-0/t-timeout-welcome-to-the-new-club-bauhinia-vip-lounge/  wink.

There were several flat screen tv's in the lounge.  All were on ESPN or CNN:

Towards the back of the lounge was a Grand Piano:

I'm not familiar with pianos so I could not tell if it was a nice one or not.  No one played it when I was there either.

Futbol was on:

The fancy coffee maker with a touch screen operation:

The alcoholic beveerages:

We arrive in the morning so they had some cold breakfast items:

Hot water for tea and the instant noodles:

They have the Nong Shim cup o' noodles here!  If you like spicy IMO this brand is really good for instant Korean style ramen.  The other one was a thin vermicelli noodle soup:

If you wanted a iced coffee they had in a can:

Had a bit of salad and veggies:

The vegetarian risotto balls Korean style:

Scrabbled Eggs and a Korean rice porridge:

The usual sandwiches served in an airport lounge:

At the beverage counter they had chips, pretzels, and assorted cookies:

Overall, the selection of the food served at this lounge was mediocre.  I would definitely recommend getting something from the food court and bring it in.

Next we take a look around at the architecture which was rather neat:

Since we had time before our transit tour in Seoul, I walked over to the other side and checked out the smaller lounge:

decor was similar to the larger room and the food items were the same:

As reported before here is where we had the biggest problem with the lounge:

The seats with the view of the runway were the issue:

Of the approximately 20-some chairs, 5 of them were filthy.  sad  It really surprised me as the rest of the lounge was more or less immaculate.  The cleaning staff was constantly tidying up the place and clearing dishes and drinks.  I commented this to the front desk but they just smiled and kinda pretended that they didn't speak much English.  sad  Definitely a huge disappointment that made this a terrible experience.

 By: DRMW : March 3rd, 2015-00:02
In the larger room at the Asiana Business Lounge they had several facilities to enjoy while you wait for your flight. They had quite a few rooms to relax: The Relaxing Rooms had the massaging chairs: This particular chair had some wear and tear on the edg...

The seats ruined it

Surprised the cleaning crew haven't noticed these dirty chairs. Ruins the experience of the lounge. Did you grab a couple shin ramen cups to go? Regards, ED-209

actually...

Yes, I was curious if the Nongshim Shin Raemn would taste the same as the ones we get in the U.S.: IMO the ramyun tasted the same and is just as spicy! Too bad they didn't have the Shin Black. -MW ...

Also note that March 5th is Momofuku Ando Day!

Looks very similar to the Korean Air lounge there

Been there twice and both times it felt short of my expectations. And too crowded too. - AT

The Asiana lounge was huge so while it was busy it never felt congested. How was flying with Korean Air? Which route did you do? -MW

Korean Air bclass is alright

Nothing special IMO. Took the direct flight from LAX to Incheon. I took China Southern bclass one time, and I actually liked it much better than Korean Air. I had lobster for one of the meals! The seats are larger and the flight attendants more pretty too...
