The Sony looks like an interesting camera and one that I was, and still am, looking at.

I'd be intrigued to see what the Pentax glass is like on it though.  The Voightlander 40mm looks a good choice, also.  What I notice is that some of the Zeiss lenses for the A7 range look reasonably big.  The A7 with the 55mm on it really isn't all that much smaller than my K3 with the 40mm Limited fitted.

Certainly, the A7 is heading in the right direction in terms of what I'm looking for in a camera.  I'd maybe like to see a larger grip on it with a larger battery also.  I'd also prefer no AA filter and perhaps a quieter shutter.  I'm yet to read any reviews of the A7 II yet, but from what I've heard it's addressed some of the problems that people have complained of regarding its predecessor.  It's a remarkable achievement though fitting a full frame sensor into such a small body and Sony should be applauded for attempting it.

Sold my Leica M9 due to this news . Bought 2nd hand Sony A7 for us$1k! And still have money around for a 2nd hand Sony A7s. Will hunt for it next year. 35mm on A7s and 50mm on A7. Yeah baby! :) Love the focus peaking. Surprisingly the 28mm has less vigne...

and looking forward to some photos with the new set-up... Like most, I have been following the Kodak sensor issue... it was good to see Leica do the right thing in it's service approach, including their upgrade policy. The A7 / A7s should be a good kit, a...

Leica's decision, I just don't want any future hassle. Been thinking the whole night about selling M9 (my sensor was ok), but in the end decided that I have sucked enough enjoyment out of that camera, time to move on. But that CCD sensor was amazing in th...

The pleasure of shooting, is it still the same?

At least that´s what I asked myself. My M9 is with Leica at the moment and yes I have some "defects" on my processor. Now I have to wait for further information if my case is covered by the new solution offered - free of charge. Three years ago I had seri...

For me, it's easy decision:

the EVF. I like shooting with an EVF, what you see is what you get. No guessing around, no need for review. More accurate at wider apperture and with wide angle lenses. And I can use any lens on A7 with adaptors. And I don't like changing lenses on the go...

I'm seriously considering the A7 route. For me Leica is all about the glass

and being able to use it on the A7 is a great solution that also lets me use Nikon glass.

Absolutely

agree on both points ! Realised one can get the same Leica glow on non-Leica bodies with excellent results ! These lens adaptors are real God send ! So much versatility !

Voight 40mm

requires the voight adaptor to focus. It's an M mount lens specifically design for Sony E mount. Strange, isn't it? cen@jkt
