My very strange summer.
Actually the title should say "My very strange 2013".
These last 2 months i have been very busy ... without really being busy (productively i guess.
A couple of Ducati's came my way to be tested and everywhere i met people and friends along the way.
I completely forgot the brand of this character full old-timer, i think no need to say it is British
.
The madness began when i got my hands on this Ducati ... ot the Panigale but another serious beast with 170 hp. Mesmerizing accelerations but i didn't really like it. It felt as if i could die any moment
. And to have fun with it you really have to go fast (véééry) just to realise when you're back home and checking the rear tires you actually drove it like a pussy .I'll take a Hypermotard any ay over this.
About that Panigale that was promised to me ... my friend just set it up for the racetrack. "Take it to Francorchamps " he told me ... "I'm not ready to die" i told him
So my average working days were combined with a bit of leisure, my wife being in a country far far away and Louie became my new lover !
Just a quick shot in my favorite Belgian city ... on which most Purists agree with me.
Once back home a dirty job awaited me ...
In the mean time my wife was having fun without the Bim !
As Lotus sales have collapsed this year i was pretty lucky to see this one ... this only confirms that our own Don is a true Purist, one of the last 'real' cars !

Louie approves as he has more room to play now !
One of the highlights must have been my short visit to Paris ... nothing beats Paris actually ... .
Where i fell in love .... what else ?
Luckily on my arrival home the 911 was ready for a go.
In between fun and homework there was also real work to do. Louie was glad to help me out.
Then suddenly the real summer fell over Europe ... a gently drive in the cornfields made us relax.
Another friend keeps teasing me with his newly acquired watches
Louie got his first trip to the Grand Place in Brussels and seemed very pleased.
I do have some good friends willing to lend me their toys ...
... and if they are on the road with a toy on loan they gladly come and pick me up for a drive ...
Acting silly offcourse is a vast ingredient
Testing my photographic skills, well those of my LX-7
Aah, he's there again ??? Why does he keep doing this to me ?
Visiting France and drinking Cuba Libre's .. or some kind ...
Another friend sold all his cars in 2012 .. only kept this little bike ... Aprillia 180 hp .... .
I also celebrated the birthday of my daughter, myself and Louie ... .
The X-type is a fantastic cruising car, it makes me go slow ... which is probably a very good thing .... am i just getting old ?

A certain friend bought a very nice duplex so we now have another extra home.
More toys to be admired, can anyone guess what this is ?
I also visited my favorite nearby French coastline: The "Côte Opale" ...

You never know what road life takes you, just go along and have as much fun as you can. Gotta say that a year with the first half throwing a leg over a Duc is quite a good year! Seems like Louie is enjoying the summer! -MW
Things haven't been well for Louie either ...
.. as he was diagnosed to be allergic to all kind of things. The vet said the best place for Louie is the sea, but that is a minimal 50 miles drive so we can do that once a week if really necessary. In winter things will be better for him anyway :-) . Abo...
Yes but quite brutal!
Apparently the bike had a problem not giving the full power, it should have 170 hp which IMO is plain ridiculous for public roads. It didnt feel that much faster than the 848 i tried last year but once i got the hang of it a bit i managed a few quick pass...

The reason i don't consider it lovely ...
.. could easily be described by the fact we didn't go on a holiday this year. We decided to stay at home to work on the house .... which isn't exactly my favorite thing to do :-( . All we did was a day out now and then .... hardly a holiday as i would cal...
The best holidays I've had...
were when the family went away and I was "Home Alone" :-), those are the most amazing holidays :-) S

Time alone is needed ...
... from time to time :-) Unfortunately when my wife went out for a few weeks my work exploded ... so i was a bit over-busy all the time. That LX-7 is quite amazing, though there are some features i don't really like ... . Bim

Have you already been there ? It's only 160 to 170 km from where you live, perfect for a day or a weekend out. The restaurant were we had lunch also has a hotal and closed carpark, so oyou can take your vintage car if you wish :-) Filip
