. . . four rail bank shots a month ago. I'd allowed for making two or three in a live game (as opposed to practice) over the years. Last week, I had two in one day.
First, Jim gets a four rail kick . . .
. . . that's close enough for government work. Not sure if he meant this to be a three- or four-rail shot, but as far as we're concerned, it's good for a W.
Then, I pulled off two four-rail banks on the eight in consecutive games.
The second was tougher than the first, and both were exceptionally difficult.
All three shots executed by Denali cues fitted with very soft or ultra soft tips.
Jim's got one now, too. His game perceptibly improved when he started shooting with a Denali.

. . . since the last installment three weeks ago, but I doubt it's close to being ready yet. This one will have an apricot handle from a tree culled at the family orchards, and fitted with a single purpleheart shaft and 'pro' soft tip. We'll go shooting w...

. . . plus several discussions with Ming preceded my plunge into accumulating pool cues. I always loved the game, but never had enough free time to devote to it until recently. That thread of yours was the spark.
dear Art ;) :) Wow I wasn't aware that it was like that and that I actually have whatsoever influence on anything around here My thread and discussion with Ming was many year ago if I recall it Ahhh the time flies like an arrow.... Yours flattered D
For me I've always been hooked on the game. It's fun, good for socializing, makes you think, and improves hand eye coordination. When you come out to L.A. we've got good food and billiards with great friends when you visit! HAGWE Ares501! -MW
. . . by a guy at the bar who thought he was good. It was a scene right out of Taxi Driver . "You talkin' to me?" :-) Long story short: old timer 2, kid, 0. Bank-the-eight, lights out both games - not even close. I'll see if Jim can get video of the two-r...
. . . that sent The Kid packing. Tougher than it looks, 'cause two-rail banks (or kicks) have a totally different geometry than one or three rail shots, with wider angles. Art
