Food (Bugs Ugh!)
Walking around we see a lot of restaurants and people enjoying the food. The concept here is that you purchase a card and add money to it. When you see something you like at one of the stalls you use the card like a credit/debit card to pay for your items.
They had a stand with the popular candied apple-like fruit on a stick. You see this at a lot of places in China:
Some of the dessert stands look very tempting:
Fresh fruit and vegetables, this place also made smoothies and juice drinks:
Locals like boiled peanuts, sweet yams, and steamed corn:
A vendor that was really popular was this place...a fresh sugar cane juice stand. They had a special machine that you feed the sticks of sugar cane into and juiced it:
A large pot of spicy crawfish, you could smell the intensity of the spiciness of this from a few feet away!
Cold spicy crab looked good:
Now this is where it gets really interesting...this place was really popular:
A lot of people was lurking and taking pics. Unfortunately for the proprietor they were only there to check out the creepy offerings but not buying anything.

Centipedes, I like the video game but not on a stick:
Some kind of large bug/beetle like insect. There's what appears to be seahorses at the bottom left.
Giant locust or grasshoppers:
As we explore the other stalls we run into this place that sells Donkey meat!
In addition to the insect stall, there were a lot of people checking this place out but no real customers....They offered honey lotus juice drinks and a specialty item...dog meat!
Anyone here eat some of these items? Ever try insects? I have to admit, I wussed out and didn't try anything here!

Most didn't taste much at all....
Without the seasoning I guess they wouldn't taste anything at all... ;) Best Blomman

No bugs for me in Taiwan..other than the ones that bit me... that mall reminds me of the indoor malls in Vegas at the Venetian... you are pretty brave my friend...

I don't order any food from this mall so I don't know how it taste. I was surprised that there were no durian stands, found out that they do but it was not in season! Lucky us! -MW

Reminds me of the Venetian
Seems like a fun place to visit. The interior reminds me of the Venetian in Vegas. I think I'd pass on the bug store, ewww. :) Regards, ED-209
