We've had some great meals at the restaurant Providence on Melrose. We even did a PuristS multi-course tasting menu there a few years ago. The chef, Michael Cimarusti opened up a place in West Hollywood about a year ago and it's been a hit. I've driven by...  

I've had some oysters there, as an appetizer before dining at Laurel Hardware another restaurant a short walk away. You had me at lobster roll. And I'm definitely going to try the Manhattan clam chowder my next visit.

I was expecting a traditional chowder, the versions at Connie and Ted's are on the soupy/watery side so it's a bit different. They poached their lobster in butter so that's probably why it taste so good. -MW

It's easy to miss, the restaurant has the valet parking in the front and set back a bit. I think you like this place. -MW
