New Noodle Garden
Oct 19, 2014,00:02 AM
Our next stop was also in the Hacienda Heights area...New Noodle Garden:
On the wall was a banner claiming to win some kind of major noodle or dumping award. The place was busy so that was a good indicator as we looked over the menu.
For the hand made noodles, they offered different types to choose from:
One of their signature items is the Scallion Pancake:
Their version was fantastic, it was very thin and crispy. They had just the right amount of onions and scallions inside. They also offer the Beef Rolll which uses the same pancake but filled with braised beef.
Fried Chitlins:
I thought this was pretty good but portion was kinda small.
Next up was the Xiao Long Bao, it didn't look that great but it was good.
IMO the best dish was this...Spicy Wonton
The wonton itself was ok, it's the sauce that stood out. I used this sauce to dip my Xiao Long Bao into and poured it over the pan fried dumplings that came out later.
Their popular Beef Noodle Soup:
The same thing except it was with Beef Tendon:
The noodles were very good, next time we will order the wider noodles.
Next we had the Jha Jiang Mein aka Chinese Spaghetti:
Every place does this differently. New Noodle Garden's version was good but it could have definitely used more sauce.
Pan Fried Dumplings, extra crispy:
The potstickers were really good here but the best overall dish was the Spicy Wontons.
