A quick video of my experience on board flight BR15 via EVA Air Royal Laurel class:
I had seating in 2A which is a window seat. The layout is a 1-2-1. As you can see here, the center seats are spacious but still have enough privacy between the 2 seats:. An interesting thing to note is that the seats a re also designed to be at and angle so that every seat faces a window without turning your head (they call it a herring bone positioning). I thought it was a bit uncomfortable in such an arrangement but after a hour or so it was fine.
The lie flat seats in the Royal Laurel cabin have a multi position adjustment panel:
Each plane is different so I had to press all the buttons to figure out what does what:
The IFE touch screen controller and charging ports. The shelf holding the bottled water was convenient to place my tolietry/glasses bag:
It was easy getting in and out of the seats, the armrest is completely flat which makes the seating appear more spacious:
With a press of the button the armrest can pop up:
A coat hanger:
More shelves to place things on the lower area of the seats. Plenty of leg room when you stretch out:
As with other airplanes, water or juice is served before the plane takes off:
The slippers that they provide are really comfortable!
Once we are in the air, they hand out the overnight kits and pajamas:
EVA Air partners with Rimowa so the kit comes in this sturdy case:
The usual socks, blinders, ear plugs, comb, tooth paste, and tooth brush:
The pajama set was a top and bottom in a nice cloth pouch. I didn't use it but the materials were quite soft.
They also provide noise cancellation headsets. 'Thunder'? I reminded me of my Howard Leight Thunder shooting ear muffs!
It comes with a set of hygenic disposable covers:
I usually don't like to use public earphones/headsets but the one onboard EVA has a weird 3 prong plug. I didn;t have an adapter for my etymotics so I used theirs. The sound cancellation worked well, acoustic quality was good.
The bathrooms were nice, slightly larger in size than a standard bathroom:
Harnn provides the skin care products for EVA Air:
Once we got to cruising altitude, the lights dim and the interior cabin turns to a soothing violet/purple color:
