So many memories, Ed. Maybe the best . . .

. . . was the unbelievable 10 1/2 game deficit they erased in ten days during the '82 season.  They were 10 and a half games out of first place to the Atlanta Braves on a Thursday; over the next ten days, they played eight with the Braves, and won every game.  Swept a double header on Friday in Atlanta, won the Saturday and Sunday games there, then took two out of three from another team, and wound up back in LA the next Thursday to face the Braves for another four.

I was at the first two games, which were as intense as a playoff series.  Rick Monday smashed a pitch hard as I've ever seen, and that was off of Phil Niekro.  In ten days, they went from practically-out-of-it to half a game back.  That was a team.

It's the beginning of Summer and what better way to start than a special company party at Dodger Stadium. The Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team was away for games in San Diego, so we had the stadium all to ourselves. Weather was perfect here in SoCal as w...

Cool yu got to go on the field and tour the stadium. The new food items look good. That grilled corn with the lime and cheese is a L.A. street food favorite! Those wooden spoons for the malts always broke when I tried scooping it. :( -MW

It was an awesome experience

The Dodgers were a passion . . .

. . . for decades, Ed. I must've been to a few hundred games back in the '70s and '80s when they were one of the better teams ever put together, with players remaining on the roster for years, and in many cases, their entire careers. Garvey, Lopes, Russel...

I feel the same way

Thanks Art, I agree with your comments and feel the same way. I used to be an avid fan of the Dodgers and grew up watching the same players as you: Garvey, Cey, Lopes, Scioscia, and do you remember Dusty Baker, Rick Monday, and Pedro Guerrero in the outfi...

Kershaw had a no hitter a few days ago but Krienke didn't do well against the Royals yesterday. Hope they do better tonight. -MW

Lucky you!
