State & Fig
Jul 16, 2014,00:06 AM
A fellow PuristS foodie who frequented Santa Barbara highly recommended a restaurant nearby the Canary called State & Fig.
We started with a Fig Toast:
Grilled crostoni, ricotta, fig jam, arugula, lemon EVOO
Some champagne to start!
Delicious!
Clam Chowder w/ smoked bacon and a Cesar salad duo:
This clam chowder was EXCELLENT! It was a nice hearty soup with a great consistency to the base and chock full of clams. The bacon gave it a fantastic flavor to it without being too overwhelming. I would come here just for this!!!
Next up was a pasta dish.
Handmade Agnolotti with crispy bacon in a green pea sauce Perfectly cooked al dente, soooo good!
Braised Short Rib was really good, the beef was tender.
Ad Hoc Fried Chicken was tasty too!
Really enjoyed the
Sea Bass. The light salad with mandarin oranges accompanied the dish well.
The dessert was great but I forgot to take pics. IMO State & Fig was amazing, the owner was nice as was our server. If you are a foodie in search of a great meal in Santa Barbara, this is the place for you!
